A Natural Environment

Our conference facility is only 10 km outside the town of Parys on the Vaal River and the sight of our charming log cabins in this leafy area will surely capture your imagination.  The tranquillity of this lovely setting is only surpassed by the hospitality of our staff and our venue has become rightly popular for all manner of functions and team building events.

Accommodation for Everyone

Our accommodation facilities are expansive and five different buildings ensure comfortable overnight accommodation for up to 139 people, catering for even large groups using our conference facility:

• Double storey Canadian log cabins: suitable for 32 singles or 66 delegates sharing, the 32 hand-crafted, en-suite log cabins nestle among the trees and each has a private deck.  Some units overlook the Vaal River and others the stream that runs through the property.
• Single storey cabins: suitable for 17 singles or 36 delegates sharing, the 17 en-suite log cabins are closely clustered and some distance away from the main entertainment area.
• Quarter Deck executive suites: these suites are perfectly suited to senior management; five en-suite rooms are privately located and each has a lounge and mini bar.
• Thorntree Cottage: thatched cottage for smaller groups that accommodates up to 21 people in eight double, two single and one three-bedded room – there are five bathrooms.
• Makoro Guesthouse: this guesthouse is a few minutes away on a neighbouring property to cater for senior management or to act as overflow accommodation.

Conference Facility and Equipment

Several conference venues are available for delegations of different sizes, equipped with all the requisite equipment; they are, in order of ascending size:

• Wise Owl conference room: this intimate venue accommodates a maximum of fifteen people and is perfect for small groups.  It can be used as a conference, breakaway or open air discussion room.
• Warthog conference room: this private facility is situated close to a stream and offers a distinctive atmosphere.  It accommodates a maximum of thirty people and can also be used as a breakaway room.
• Hippo conference centre: this beautiful facility is glass-encased and built on wooden stilts right on the Vaal River, away from the main entertainment area.  It accommodates up to 150 people and boasts a large lawn.
• Rhino conference room: this facility is our largest (accommodating up to 350 delegates) and the glass and wooden structure is built adjacent to a large granite rock formation that runs down into the river.

Function Venues

We have several function venues complimenting our conference facility spaces; in fact, some of our conference venues may double as function venues when needed:

• Rhino: this is our largest function venue and can accommodate 200 banquet guests or 300 cocktail function guests.
• Elephant: this spacious, thatched function venue is at the main entertainment area and it features a private bar, a “Cigar Lounge” sun deck, pool table and dart board and will seat up to 140 people for a private function or a dinner.
• Hippo: this venue can accommodate 70 banquet guests and is near the edge of the river; it has its own private bar and is situated away from the main entertainment area.
• Bushman's Bar: this venue is also separate from the main entertainment area and it is just the right size for an intimate function for twenty or fewer people.
