Expansive Function Venues In A Beautiful Corner Of The Free State, On The Vaal River

Not too many Gauteng businesses consider function venues in the Free State when they are looking for a suitable space to hold a:

However, the Free State is close to Gauteng and our function venue on the Vaal River near the town of Parys is only an hour's drive from Johannesburg.  We are ten kilometres from Parys in a tranquil setting with all the facilities you may reasonably require.

The roaring Vaal, the lush surroundings and the sight of our beautiful wooden complex will change the way you think about function venues in the Free State.  We have utilised the natural beauty of the Vaal River to create a venue where hospitality and tranquillity are foremost.  Our main entertainment area overlooks the Vaal and is laid out in a horseshoe, with a large granite rock formation that flows into the river and lush green lawn areas.  There are several venues to choose from for your function or event:

Rhino – 300 Guests

Rhino is the largest of our function venues and a jewel among Free State meeting spaces; this thatched has a private bar and a large deck area over the granite rock formation that runs into the Vaal.  For more informal and cocktail functions, up to 300 guests can be accommodated and there is space for 200 banquet guests.  This thatched roof venue is located at the main entertainment area.

Elephant – 140 Guests

Elephant is the second-largest of our function venues and, like Rhino, is located at the main entertainment are, complete with a stage, private bar and sun deck.  Up to 140 guests can be accommodated at fourteen tables with ten chairs per table and it is an ideal private function area.  We also use it for serving breakfast, lunch and dinner when it is not in use for a private function.

Hippo – 70 Guests

Hippo continues our wood-and-glass architectural theme and is situated right on the Vaal, away from the main entertainment area.  It has private bar facilities and can accommodate 70 banquet guests in privacy with only the rush of the Vaal as background music and a grand view of the Free State sunset.

Bushman's Bar – 20 Guests

Bushman's Bar, as the smallest of our function venues, allows you to enjoy the essence of our beautiful Vaal River venue and a view of the Free State you do not often experience.  This intimate venue can accommodate 20 guests seated and is built right over a stream running though the lodge.  There is also a boma campfire area and bar and it is privately located away from the main entertainment area.
