For Gauteng businesses planning year end functions, Parys is ideal, thanks to its close proximity to Gauteng (an hour's drive from Johannesburg) and its location on the beautiful Vaal River.  Our river lodge is ten kilometres outside Parys in a stunning setting where you can enjoy the most captivating Free State sunsets.  Comfortable on-site accommodation also means that you guests would not have to drive anywhere after the party is over.

Bushman's Bar for Small Groups

Our smallest meeting space is the Bushman's Bar and it is ideal for year end functions for small companies – it can accommodate twenty people seated.  It is a really delightful place to meet, because it is private and away from the main entertainment area and built directly over a stream that flows through our lodge.  Thanks to its private bar, entertainment area with wooden deck and boma campfire area, it is imbued with a sense of occasion and intimacy.

Hippo on River's Edge

Hippo is perfect for slightly larger year end functions in the Parys area and can accommodate a maximum of seventy people sitting down for a banquet.  Like most of our other facilities, this log building under thatch has large glass windows that let in a lot of natural light.  Hippo is surrounded by a wooden deck from whence you can witness the most beautiful sunsets and it is perched right on the Vaal's edge, also in a private setting away from the main entertainment area.

Elephant Caters for 140

Elephant is twice as large as Hippo and suitable for year end functions with up to 140 guests (seated at fourteen tables with ten people per table).  We also use this versatile venue to serve breakfasts, lunches and dinners when it is not being used as a function venue.  Elephant is situated in our main entertainment area and has a large sun deck (the Cigar Lounge) and a private bar.  It is also popular for conferences because of its size.

Rhino – the Largest

With Rhino, we are proud to say we can even cater for some of the largest year end functions because this venue has space for up to 200 people sitting down for a banquet.  In the case of slightly more informal gatherings like cocktail functions, 300 people will fit comfortably, making this venue extremely flexible and versatile.  Rhino is situated within our main entertainment area, yet it still has its own private bar.
